Grapefruit is not an orange == I meant to purchase some orange in NTUC today, coz it's been long time since I last enjoyed orange... And I came across a rack full of oranges which looked much like my favourite type of orange I love in Indonesia... But the name plate said "Grapefruit" I then thought "Oh! Grapefruit must be what this fruit is called in Singapore! Hmm.." So without another thought I chose 6 of them and put them into a plastic bag, while already imagining the sweetness of fresh-and-pulpy flesh of my favourite orange... I went home happily... After dinner I hastily grabbed one of them from the fridge and cut them open... But my jaws were hanging open afterwards "Huh?! How come the flesh is a deep-red colour?!?!?!?" I first thought that it was spoiled, but I couldnt detect any sign of decaying from the smell... Then I took a bite from it, and then I had this burning sensation on my tongue. Just that it wasnt from fire, but from the IT WAS SOUR !!!!! I have never tasted an orange this sour in my life!!!!! Looking at it with a blaming look on my eyes, I wanted to slump it straight the dustbin..== But hey, it is still food afterall And yea, I decided to squeeze out the juice instead of eating the Believe me, u wouldnt wanna try drinking on acid, but i have done it == It was as if I drink a citric acid solution straight == But at least it was better than eating it straight anyway Lesson learnt: #Think twice before u leap #Never judge an orange from its skin, coz u may mistake it for grapefruit instead == P.S. : Fyi, I still have gonna go through this 5 times ..I have 5 grapefruits left and I cant bring myself to throw them all away....T.T |
