I hate history.

Updates of my boring life.

Not sure if it should still be considered mundane though, since I'm now more or less, interning!
And interning = working, or at least, something to do.

I'm interning for SUTD itself, but working with an Experience Design Team from Ong&Ong Pte Ltd.
I'm doing a non-paid internship, but oh well, I guess that's better than not having something to do at all.

So what do I do?
Basically:
*Fieldwork research
*Whatever I'm asked to do
*Making models
*Helping the permanent employees
*Oh, and whatever I'm asked to do (Yes, I can't stress this part more often)

This is especially so, after realising that with my zero architectural background in my education, I wouldn't be of any use to the team itself, except maybe doing anything they need me to do. From presentations regarding design inputs to going out scouting/buying for materials outside.
I guess this is where the part that says "I'm here to learn as much as I can anyway. Doesn't matter what they ask you to do."
But I can't help feeling very useless at times. Especially when they are discussing the designs or whatsoever, and the SUTD interns are just left at one corner, either with something else to do, or nothing to do.
If this is the case, I might have to intern again during my summer break next year, when my architectural skills would be more applicable in the workplace. Haha. But that has to wait and see.

At times like this, I would just recall a quote from a post about things you have to do in your 20s:
Struggle. It is all right. From here on things can only get better. You just have to press on, and learn from it.
Okay, maybe not the exact quote. But it goes somewhere around that line.
So yeah, I shall just keep moving forward, and keep my fuel tank filled.

Another random pondering that accelerated me into the blogging mode:

People complaining about the terrible haze in Singapore that originates from Indonesia.

On first glance, I would of course blame my countrymen, for conducting slash-and-burn and probably clear-cutting the forest for logging, illegally or not.
But after looking from many angles of points of view, there are many other interesting perspectives within my own mind. Haha.

1). "F*** you all, Indonesian farmers, why are you shaming the rest of us who are not even at fault? And why are you making us the victim too?!"
2). "Ah shut up, people. It's just a little haze. It won't kill you!"
3). "Oh don't you dare call names and blame Indonesia. Not as if Singapore has never done anything to us! What about the sands that you keep digging from our lands!"
4). "There's no way in hell you can insult my country. Only I am allowed to insult my country ;)"
5). "Be grateful you people! Don't complain about each other! Without Singapore, so many Indonesians wouldn't have a place to study and go on holiday to. Without Indonesia, Singapore would be hit by tsunamis!"
6). "Ah who gives a shit about all this. I'm gonna go to sleep."

Bottom line is,
Just. Be. Grateful.
After all, what a fisherman lose when his catch escapes back into the sea, is a win situation for the fish that got caught.

All right. Enough of this random couple of bubbles in my head.
'Till next time.
